KIRBY & JUSTIN
After three years we continue to make the small town of Shelburne (Ontario, Canada) our home as we invest in our community through church, volunteer programs, and being local teachers. We reflect over the past few years and each unique change that season has brought about--from the days of immigration and partial teaching contracts, to settling into full time employment and Permanent Resident status.
Gratefully, the theme of this year seems to be one of stability, and Justin is enjoying teaching Grade 6 (for the second year in a row, at the same school), while Kirby anticipates graduating with her Teaching Degree in the Spring. Our next big adventure will be to apply for a program called the “Four over Five,” where teachers may live abroad every fifth year. Although international travel is a passion of ours, the ultimate dream will be to partner with ministry organizations to serve and spread the love of Christ.
In the meantime we are enjoying deepening our marriage and the relationships we have developed over the years. Kirby still desires to pursue spoken word and speaking engagements, but finding time in between school and other commitments can be challenging.
Who knows what the future holds but we continue to entrust ourselves to the Lord and lean upon His good guidance.
